Hazel was a puppy when she came through LVLR, look at her now!

"Hazel Grace has captured our hearts and completely stolen her dads.  Hazel has her puppy tendencies, especially her love of stealing socks, but can do absolutely no wrong in her dad’s eyes.  She is genuinely one of the sweetest dogs we have ever owned and she gets along so well with her older fur sister.  She is so great with our 3 year old as well.  She is always making sure to shower him with lots of kisses, which provides us all with belly aching laughs.  Hazel has been the best addition to our family and we are so lucky to call her ours!

2022 Update: Our family has grown by one since 2019. We welcomed a baby boy in July of 2020. Nothing has changed with Miss Hazel. She is still the sweetest fur sister to our boys. She is so patient with our now two year old. Hazel adores her older fur sister and still has her dad wrapped around her paw! She’s brought so much joy into our lives! We are so thankful we found her through LVLR

The S's!"

Look how great Buddy is doing!

"Our little guy Buddy ( formally named Kai ) has settled in and is loving life. Him and Charlotte, our black lab we had previously to adopting him love each other so much. They get along so well.  They love going on daily walks and cuddle at night.

Thank you Las Vegas Labrador Rescue for the great addition to our family. "

This is such a sweet update on Dixie!

"Hi, we just wanted to send along an update about our  rescued lab Dixie we adopted back in July 2022.

Dixie has become such a wonderful part of the family. She's gotten very accustomed to our home and all the coziest spots, i.e the couch, our bed, right under our feet when cooking, the sunny spots by the pool and of course the outdoor couch!

She also has gotten used to dealing with our older lab who has epilepsy and she even yelped loud enough once while hovering over him during a seizure to pop him write out if it! She remains calm and makes sure she stays out of his way during those difficult moments. She's proven to be an excellent watch dog. During political campaign season she gave each door to door solicitor a peace of her mind, lol! We are very grateful she's come into our home.

Here's a few pics of her enjoying all of the attention and the couch lol! The pic of her in front of our other dog Kirby's crate was her keeping a watchful eye after he returned from the ER after some difficult seizures. ❤️

We are so very happy to have Dixie be a part of our family and her forever home in our hearts! ❤️"

Happy Tail: Boone (formerly Chandler)

One of our first Labradoodles, what an update!

"Hi!

One year ago we were chosen to be Boone’s forever family. He has been the sweetest boy and loves everyone he meets. He loves to play with other dogs and go on adventures. He has been to 7 states and loves car rides. Boone is the only lab that doesn’t like water but loves to camp and chase squirrels. He’s the luckiest boy to have so many people love him and spoil him but we couldn’t imagine our lives without him.

Adopted: Champ, a 2 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Champ is doing well in foster care, but will need time to continue his path to becoming the dog he's meant to be. Champ is still like a 6 month old puppy, needing to learn manners and what's expected of him, and is very smart and quick to learn with proper guidance. He is athletic and energetic, and stronger than he realizes. He is also mischievous and mouthy like a puppy. Champ is good with other dogs, but was never properly socialized, so needs time and boundaries when meeting new animals, to prevent issues. He is learning to feel safe crated, doing better ever day, with positive reinforcement. His walking/leash skills are improving as well.

Champ is very affectionate and loving, with a sweet spirit that craves times with humans. Champ will make a wonderful companion, with the right family committed to training, boundaries and consistency. Champ will need more time, love and commitment to his growth. He is a special boy, and deserves a family fully dedicated to his needs."

Adopted: Magnus. a 1.5 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his furever home. Here's what his fosters have to say:

"Magnus is the biggest cuddle bug! He will always sit next to you and wait for cuddles. He doesn’t bark much and he is house trained. He loves tennis balls and he gets along with other dogs really well.

Magnus doesn’t love being in a crate but is improving. Magnus has displayed 'bird dog hunting' traits, so it's best he's in a home with no pet birds. Magnus is smart, energetic, and quick to learn, and will make a great companion for the right family. "

Adopted: Mr Brown has found his furever home.

Mr. Brown knows most commands and is very quick with learning new commands. He is crate trained, but prefers being out with his family. He goes in his crate at night and sleeps through the night with no problem. He has not had any accidents in our house and has just learned to use the doggy door.

Mr. Brown is a very happy pup and has come out of shell while we have had him. He will need time and patience as with any other puppy, but I believe he will make a great addition to any family. "

***Medical notation*** Mr Brown is currently being treated for a skin infection brought on by allergies. He has made wonderful improvement since being in our care, and while he still displays hair loss, it is actually growing back quite well. He has a follow up appointment with the canine dermatologist, where we will assess what is need going forward. Please consider the follow up care we'll be providing when requesting to meet Mr Brown.

  • Guapo-26

Adopted: Guapo, a 1 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Guapo, “Handsome”, is an energetic and lovable one-year old yellow Labrador. We have nicknamed him Marley, as he is super friendly, very curious and excitable. He enjoys being around people and other animals. He really wants to play and can be rambunctious. He loves attention, toys and fetching just about anything that can be thrown.

He is young and has a lot of work to do on his basic commands and manners. He is attentive and when there are no distractions, he will listen. With his eagerness to learn, he will pick things up very quickly. He is already crate trained and will sleep through the night without incident.  He is house trained. He has learned to use the doggy door and will go to the bathroom on command. He walks very well on the leash, with no pulling or straying. He is still a puppy, and has a need to chew, but has made do with things we have given him.

He has done well with other dogs, including our four-year old black lab. In a short time, it has helped him to be around a more mature dog around to show him how to behave properly. On walks, he liked the birds, squirrels, rabbits and other dogs and did not exhibit anything other than the expected reasonable curiosity. With people, he just wants to get to know everyone and find out how to be involved in whatever is happening.

Guapo is a very happy, fun-loving, young boy. It will take some time and patience to train him, as he has a great deal of energy and will need an outlet for that. He is the makings of a great family and companion dog. He will do well in any home willing to provide the guidance that will allow him to mature into the dog he can be.

Adopted: Debo, a 2 year old Black Male Labrador, who is looking for his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Debo does good in a crate, you just tell him go to jail and he runs straight into the crate, he barks for a little bit but then relaxes. He sleeps through the night and is house trained but does get excited and dribbles sometimes. He loves tennis balls and can carry 3 in his mouth at one time and gets tunnel vision when chasing balls or toys. Debo gets along quickly with dogs and is super friendly. He is a energetic dog to have that listens extremely well and willing to be trained. He already knows lots of commands and he responds fast to them. Debo will be a great addition to an active family that continues his training through maturity."

Adopted: Sadie, a 5-6 year old Female Chocolate Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Sadie has been a joy to have in our house. She is a very sweet and well behaved dog. She loves to snuggle, but also loves to chase the ball. She is also energetic and loves playing with her foster brothers and sister. She gets along well with our dogs. She can be a little timid and shy when first meeting, but once she is comfortable, she becomes one of the family. She loves going for a walk and she does pull a little when on the leash. We are working with her using gentle corrections. She knows a few commands but will learn others quickly. Sadie also loves going for a ride and saying hello to everyone she meets. Sadie will be a wonderful addition to any family."

Adopted: Mis, a 4-5 month old Female Silver Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Mia is a gorgeous, rambunctious puppy. She is a funny and quirky young pup! She is in the process of learning commands. She will sit and shake. But she will need more help with learning the commands.  She is learning to walk on a leash and has shown lots of progress. She is full of love and will snuggle with her people. She sleeps in her crate all night, but does let you know when she wants out. She has had a few accidents in our house, but is now using the doggie door and going out on her own. She does need practice with learning not to jump as any puppy would. If you have small children, please consider the extra training she needs to get through the mouthy/jumping stage. She loves giving hugs and kisses to everyone. She gets along with other dogs and loves older children! Mia will be a great addition to an energetic and active family!

Mia has been treated for a UTI, and one required follow-up appoint with our Vet. Please consider this before requesting to meet Mia.

Adoption: Sterling, a 2 year old Female Silver Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Sterling is a beautiful silver lab. She is about 2 years old and a dream of a dog. Sterling is housebroken, crate trained and is learning her basic commands. She is learning to walk on a leash but needs a little more practice. She is very affectionate, loves to play ball and gets along well with other dogs and all people. She sleeps well in her crate all night long and is interested in the pool. Sterling has a lot of energy but also can can cuddle up and relax by your side. She will be great with a family that can both exercise her and snuggle her. She is fantastic. Sterling does have a strong prey drive, so home with small dogs and/or cats are not a good fit without committed training."

Sterling has been diagnosed with a heart murmur, most likely she was born with it. It doesn't appear to impact her behavior or health right now, and we will meet with a cardiologist if necessary."

Adopted: Paris, a 1 year old Black Male Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Paris is a very loving dog with his own funny personality. He’s definitely a jumper especially when he meets new people, and will need work curbing that behavior. He's still a puppy, so he's active and mouthy. Paris is extremely well behaved, house trained, walks well on leash, and he listens very well. Paris love cuddles and he will be your shadow wherever you go ! Paris has lived with other dogs, but takes a bit to warm up to new ones. He does ok when crated, but needs more work to feel fully comfortable. Paris is young and energetic, and will be a great companion to a family committed to guiding him as he matures."

Dixies does well with most of her basic commands, “sit, stay, down, off, wait…”. She walks well on the leash, but does pull. She is very strong and can lose focus when walking her in an unfamiliar environment. Her recall using the “come” command works when she is not distracted. She is potty trained and has had no accidents during her time with us. She learned to use the doggy door, but prefers to be let out through the actual door. She loves to eat and will let you know if she thinks it is time.

Dixie does well with other dogs, choosing to ignore most other animals when on walks. She has been great with our male Labrador and will politely let him know if he is out of line. We are not sure about how she reacts to cats or other small animals, but did not seem to notice or care about the rabbits and birds on her walks. She would do well as a watch dog as she does bark at strange sounds. She is a little bit reserved when something is new to her, but after she is able to investigate, she quickly overcomes any apprehension. She will tolerate the crate, but there was really no need for it as she is so well behaved. She did not show any interest in swimming, but loved bath time, especially the towel dry.

Dixie is truly a loving family and companion dog. She seeks love and attention and really just wants to be around people. She could benefit with some minor reinforcement of her basic training and being food motivated, this would be easy. Because she is so well behaved, she would do well, as she is in most situations. She is not overly active and definitely loves to just relax. She would a be great fit for any home, including those with children and other dogs."

Adopted: Rugar, a 1 year old Black Male Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Rugar is a rambunctious one year old black lab. He is a high energy pup, so he will need a lot of exercise. He is affectionate, loves to be near his human and will follow you around the house. Rugar learned to use the doggie door quickly and he does well on walks. He does pull a bit, but it's nothing that a gentle correction won't fix. He loves to ride in the car. Just open the door and he'll jump right in. Rugar is a young pup, so he needs to learn some manners. He will jump up and is a bit mouthy. He is very interested in what you're eating and will also counter surf. We have been working on these areas and he has already shown some improvement, but will need additional training and patience. Rugar is a sweet boy who bonded quickly and will be a fun and loving companion. "

Janey, a 2 year old Female Black Labrador, has found for her furever home

***Please Read Carefully*** ***Updated 9/13/22***

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Janey has been our home for almost 6 months now, and we have a good handle on her behaviors & quirks. We originally had felt it was in her best interest to be in an only dog home, to prevent being returned to the rescue and traumatizing her.

Janey is living with 1 senior, medical needs Lab (we recently lost our other senior), and 98% of the time does great. She wants to play more than our senior girl is capable of, and can steam roll her with energy & physicality. Where we have to watch her is her protectiveness of us, her people. If she's sitting/standing with us first, and the other dog comes up, she can be reactive. If we're with our dog first and she comes up, no issues at all. We know the cues, know how to manage her, and recognize it's only in relation to her being there (around us) first. As experienced fosters, we manage her well & avoid altercations, and as time has passed Haney has simply gotten much better. If you have a strong skillset for training, Janey might be a good fit, even with other dogs. With small children in the home, her energy level when she's excited can be overwhelming, and she doesn't yet recognize her ability to knock a little one over. As a typical young Lab, Janey is mouthy and nose pokey, and still loves to chew on appropriate things (kings, nylabones, etc). When she's really playful (and not getting the attention she wants), she bows down, barks and growls, and that can be misconstrued if you don't know that's just her way of trying to get you to play with her. With further training and learning not to jump on people (she's a happy girl), she'd be good. As experienced as we are as fosters, we are juggling the daily needs of our senior, lacking the time to spend training her as much as we'd like.

Janey is a happy-go-lucky goofball. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle with her humans. She has learned to open and close doors! She is house trained, rides well in a car, and does OK on leash. Chasing a ball is her FAVORITE, and likes to play on the first step of the pool, but isn't fully swimming yet (by our choice). She's still trying to figure out how to get 2 balls in her mouth at the same time, and does great figure 8 zoomies. Janey has learned the crate is safe, and now goes in with little issue, sleeping through the night in our room. We believe her sleeping , crated in the same room as us, was crucial to de-stressing her. When crated alone, she's made great improvements and is simply excited when we return, rather than upset. Janey still has her happy puppy nature, and likes socks, occasionally a shoe, and slippers are her fave. She's quick to learn when told no, but still has a mischievous nature. She loves to play, and then chilling once she's had mental & physical stimulation. On walks, she can stress herself out when other dogs are nearby and become reactionary, but we believe with a strong leader, she'll continue to improve.

Janey has had a rough go in the last few months, from being an abandoned dog, to a shelter, then several foster homes and then with a family that didn't work out. While she has found stability in our home, and we can see her potential, we really home to find her furever family ASAP. We know it's going to take a special family to see just how great a dog Janey is, and continue working with her to abate her anxiety and reactions. She has gained her confidence, we can see she's a truly sweet, loving pup. Janey will make an excellent companion for the right family that is committed to further training and managing what is expected of her. She really loves to be with people and is a great buddy.

Even if Janey is not the right fit for you, please consider sharing."

Adopted: Chief, a 5 year old Black Male Labrador, who is looking for his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Chief is a big and strong boy who is motivated most by love from his humans. He will follow you from room to room and he stays right by your side. He will be as close to you as possible on the couch and likes to cuddle. He thinks he is a lap dog.

He is not aggressive at all with our two other dogs, but does push his way for attention. He doesn’t seem to care about other dogs, he would much rather be with his humans. He will come right up to you, sit, and wait to be pet. He has not jumped on people. Chief has been left alone with our 2 dogs for hours without incident, he will just lay down.

Around the house, Chief is overall very good. He has only had 1 potty incident (likely because of his medicine). He does jump onto tables and bring stuff down. But he shows no destructive tendencies with any items (shoes, furniture, etc) around the house.

He will go into the crate with guidance, but he will start to whine and bark very loudly continuously. We have left the house and seen him on camera, it seems to stop after an hour or so. He is improving every day with the crate.

He walks well on a leash 80% of the time. He is not reactive to other dogs or people. He likes to explore and will pull you, but listens to correction.

Chief might be the only lab that does not like water! His bath with us was initially very challenging. He is very strong and we had to tie him to a post with a short leash outside and hose him. After a few minutes he did relax and “tolerate” the shower.

Overall, Chief is an AMAZING dog and we already love him so much. He needs to work on some basic house manners. His size does make small issues seem more than what they are. We believe in full transparency and have highlighted his strengths and opportunities. He will do best with an active family that understands they will have to be a little patient to show him how to be the best boy he can be. He wants nothing more than your love and Chief really does have so much potential."

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

”Presley is such a great dog!  He will be a wonderful companion to his person and is very attentive to us as to what he can & cannot do. His personality is calm in general, he is timid at first with strangers, and needs to be introduced to people slowly.  He is smart, picking up commands very quickly, knows how to sit, shake and stay.  The first two days he had a couple accidents in the house, lifting his leg to pee, but has seemed to catch on to the potty training since then.  He also sleeps through the night either on the tile or in the bed with you.  When we leave the house we have been putting him in the kennel & is doing really well with that, as long as there is a kong in there with peanut butter!  He is very good at keeping himself entertained ~ will chew on a nylabone or toss around a ball we have & does not bother our dogs to play with him.  He seems to be good in the car, too, he will just sit in a seat & not move around.  Presley will make a great addition to his new furever family.”

Adopted: Rocky, a 2 year old Male Silver Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Rocky (although he really answer to Nemo) is a super sweet, yet timid boy. He's good with other dogs, even allowing one of mine to take a treat from him with no reaction. He does well in a crate, sleeps through the night and seems to be house trained. He's uncomfortable around furniture, so he may have never been allowed up on a couch or similar. He doesn't play a lot, preferring to hang out with everyone.

Rocky will make a good companion for a relaxed family. "

Here's a wonderful update on Murphy (formerly Deuce).

"Hello Folks,

Deuce is now MURPHY and is adjusting wonderfully. He is fitting in like he was always meant to be here. He has learned that the Dog Run is for him to go potty and he loves to play in the back yard. He has 3 favorite outdoor balls and an endless supply of toys inside. He just recently started to take naps in his crate during the day as we leave the door open for him to come and go and at night he gets locked in still. He walks great on his leash only pulls occasionally, he knows how to sit and is working on stay and does not run out the door. He only barks occasionally when he feels we need protecting. lol He has had 2 play dates and runs at top speed. Everyone that has met him has been so impressed with him and how calm he is for a puppy and how loving. We did take him early to get his right eye checked because it did look like it was irritated and the vet said he had a bit of an infection and put him on antibiodics. It is looking a lot better and is clearing up. He has an appointment with our regular Vet (Lone Mountain) for a follow up and to get established with them this week. He is truly a Blessing and we love him dearly. Thank you for rescuing Him and saving his life.

Lourdes "Lou" and Karen"

Adopted: Grady, an 11 month old Male Black Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from HISHER foster family……..

"Grady (although he doesn't answer to that name, he is responding to being called 'Skippy') is a sweet and adorable one-year old black Labrador. He was hit by a car and needed an FHO. Six weeks after his surgery, he is healing nicely, and his personality is just now starting to come out.

Grady is gentle and very lovable. He is friendly and curious about everything. He loves petting and attention and likes to snuggle. He can be a little timid at first with new adults, but quickly loses that. He is learning to play with toys and even a little fetch. He absolutely loves kids, gets super excited, but not out of control.  He is still a puppy, but does not seem to chew on things, other than what has been given to him. He does like to gather things that are left unattended around the house and store them is his “area”. He makes a goofy face when he is scolded, but takes it well.

Grady is still working on his basic commands and is eager to learn. In the last week, as his strength and energy have improved, we have started the learning process. He has learned “come”, “down” and “bed”. We have not pushed “sit” or even “wait” as he still needs to build some strength in his hind areas. He is crate trained, but in the last two weeks, has gradually been given free rein in the house. He is potty trained and has had zero accidents. He has learned to use the doggy door and loves the independence. He walks superbly on the leash, without pulling, staying next to you the entire time.

Grady has done well with other dogs, including our four-year old black lab. He has benefited from having a more mature dog around to show him what is expected. He does not seem to have a prey instinct and did not chase the neighbor’s cats, the quail or any other small animals.

Grady has been a very happy and well-behaved boy. He just keeps improving as he feels better each day. He has the makings of a great family dog. He is young and will take some time and patience as he has energy and will need an outlet for that. Grady will do well in any home, especially those with children and other dogs. This sweet boy is ready for a forever home.

Grady will have one more follow-up evaluation with his surgeon, to make sure he's still healing properly. Please keep that in mind if considering requesting to meet him. "

Grady currently has the maximum allowed meet requests, please watch for updates.

Adopted: Janie, a 1.5 year old Female Black Labrador

Adopted: Janie, a 1.5 year old Black Female Labrador, has found her forever home.

***Please Read Carefully: Janie may need further training to be in a home with other animals. She's doing well in her foster home with 2 other dogs, with training & supervision***

Here is an UPDATED Bio from her foster family……..

"Janie has grown so much since she's been with us. At first, we were aware she was reactionary with other animals, and felt her best choice would be to be the only animal in her furever home. However, we've seen amazing progress with her behavior in our home, and see how she could easily be trained to be comfortable around other dogs and behave as expected. Janie is an energetic, sweet and and such a goofball. She is very affectionate, and loves to snuggle with her humans. Janie is learning to give cues to go outside, and she's had a few accidents when we've missed the cues. When diligent with outside time, she has no issues. Janie loves car rides, chasing a ball is her FAVORITE, and is so silly doing figure 8 zoomies. She's trying to figure out how to get 2 balls in her mouth at the same time! Janie has learned the crate is safe, and now goes in with little issue, sleeping through the night. Janie still has her happy puppy nature, and likes socks, occasionally a shoe, and slippers are her fave. She's quick to learn when told no, but still has a mischievous nature. She walks well on leash and loves to play, and then chilling once she's had mental & physical stimulation.

We initially maintained separation when Janie came into our home with our 2 dogs, as she displayed reactionary behavior & uncomfortableness around other dogs. We worked on her be comfortable with us, then began small testing around our dogs. Within a week, she is now allowed to be fully out of a pen and lives like she's one of the pack, with no issues. She has seemed to gain her confidence, and while still learning what's expected of her, we can see she's a truly sweet, loving pup. Janie will make an excellent companion for the right family that is committed to further training and managing what is expected of her. She really loves to be with people of all ages and is a great buddy."

Adopted: T-Rex, a 6 month old Black Male Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"This long-legged puppy will be a loyal companion to his owner and will follow them around everywhere.   He is going to the door when he needs to go to the bathroom and is sleeping through the night.  T Rex is not a fan of the kennel just yet, so he needs training to know that is a safe place for him.  He responds to a firm "no" and will walk away from whatever he is getting into that he shouldn't be.  When a new person walks into the room, he will get excited and sometimes jump up.  He loves his food and will jump up to see what is on the counter to eat.  T Rex seems to get along with other male dogs so far and wants to play with them, but still learning his boundaries when they do not want to play back.  Keep your eye on him, he will sneak away and grab an item he shouldn't have or get into the trash if he is able to, so make sure a nylabone or a kong toy is available for him to chew on.  He is a very friendly puppy and has typical puppy habits, but you can tell he just wants to be loved & please his owner."

Adopted: Naia, a 2 year old Female Chocolate Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING A MEET REQUEST. While Naia is sweet and does well with other dogs, she has had an altercation with her prior companion dog after living with them for a year, and LVLR feels it's best for her long term home to be the only dog. Please do not submit a meet request if you currently have other dogs.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Naia is an energetic, loving dog. She loves to be with you, very friendly and affectionate. She loves to go on car rides, does great meeting new people and places. Naia does need work on jumping up, she gets excitable and doesn't quite know 'off' yet. She walks pretty well on leash, follows heal, sit commands. She sleeps through the night, is house trained, and gets along with my dogs. Naia will do best with an active family committed to continuing her training.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Scooby is a sweet, very energetic puppy. He loves being with people and other dogs as well. He does well with our dogs. We do not have cats or other small animals, so I’m not sure how he would do. He loves meeting people and has to say hello when they walk by. We are working with him on most basics. We are working with him on walking in a leash, his crate and commands. He does know sit and stay. He will let you know when he has to go outside. He hasn’t had any accidents in our house while we have had him. He loves to play fetch and just run around the yard. Scooby will do good in any home he goes to. If you have small children, just know he loves to give hugs and kisses! "

Adopted: Max, a 4 year old Chocolate Male Labrador, found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Max is a mellow, well mannered, sweet and loveable four-year old chocolate lab. He is very friendly and seems to love everyone he meets. He loves to play, fetch, run and seeks out toys and stuffed animals.  He is calm and attentive, doing his best to do exactly what you ask of him. He likes to be involved in whatever is happening and seems comfortable and relaxed in all situations. He is ready to do anything but can also be happy just lying on the floor by your feet.

Max knows all of his basic commands, “sit, stay, down, off, wait…”. And he knows “shake, high-five, give paw, watch me and freeze”. He walks very well on the leash, without pulling or straying. He will walk next to you and will return to “heal” with the command. His recall is excellent, with him understanding the “come” command when used with his name. He is potty trained and has had no accidents during his time with us. He learned to use the doggy door in about ten minutes and is pleased to be self-sufficient.

Max does very well with other dogs, even patiently providing guidance to younger or less experienced dogs. We are not sure about how he will react to cats or other small animals as we have none. He is also an excellent watch dog, barking to alert you to any strange sounds outside. He is crate trained and seems happy spending some quiet periods there when necessary.

Max has been a genuine pleasure to have in our home. He is already an excellent dog and does not require training. He is not overly active and definitely likes time to relax. He will do well in any home, including those with children and other dogs. He is looking for someone to take care of him as a companion or as a family dog."
