"Lily is a friendly girl who is looking for her new best friend. She gets along well with everyone she meets. She is fully house trained and enjoys her time outside, she will happily stay in the backyard for long stretches of time not ready to come in! She enjoys going for walks as well as hanging out. Lily Ann is apprehensive around other dogs at first, and needs a little time to adjust in their presence. Lily will make a fine addition to any home, as she is an absolute sweetheart. "

Adopted: Remme, a 1 year old Female Yellow Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Remme has not been with us long, but we can see such potential in this beautiful girl. Like most 1 year old Labs, Remme has a lot of energy, happiest when chasing a ball or swimming. She already knows a few commands, like sit, heel, down, but is easily distracted. She does well in a kennel, is calm on a car ride, and seems to be house-trained. Remme is very affectionate and adores belly rubs! Her coloring is unique, with a gorgeous fox red coat, darker than most yellow Labs. As she's still in her puppy stage, she's also mouthy, is learning boundaries with other dogs, and needs to work on her people manners. As Remme is becoming more comfortable here, she is blossoming into a wonderful, loving Labrador.
Remme would thrive with an active family, one that will give her the time, structure and boundaries for her to mature into the Lab she's meant to be. She will make an awesome furry family member to the right family that is willing to show her love, patience and security. She has a high drive, and would make an excellent running partner. Families with young children should strongly consider the work and patience a Lab like Remme needs before requesting a meeting.
We have high hopes for Remme, she's a gorgeous, loving Lab."

We are always so thrilled to receive Happy Tails on LVLR alumni. This Happy Tail is among one of the funniest, most loving we've ever read!

"Nine months ago, we got a Bo. He was a high strung wild guy, that clearly never really had a place to call home. We hoped to change that. At first, the odds were stacked against us. Not only did we get a Bo, we also got a Stealer of Sandwiches, a Chewer of Shoes, an Escaper of Houses, a Jumper of Walls, a Barker at Randomness, a Surfer of Counters, a Lunger at TVs, and a Whiner of Early Mornings. BUT after time, love, patience, more patience, a bit more patience, and LOTS of walks, I’m thrilled to announce we have also have Learner of Manners, a Sleeper of Couches, a Protector of Houses, a Lover of Walks, a Snuggler of Closeness, a Player of Friends, a Master of Games, a Maker of Smiles, and a Stealer of Hearts. Most importantly though, he’s become a Knower of Home and finally knows where he belongs…right here…with us. Welcome home, Bo. We love you!"

Adopted: Josie, a 6 month old Female Black Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Josie is a very energetic little girl as most puppies are. She loves to be around people and follows me all over the house. Josie loves to play. She pulls all the toys out of the toy box. She gets along great with other dogs. She really don’t like going in the kennel but once she is in there for a short time she calms down and goes to sleep. She should be kenneled when home alone as she gets into things. We are working on potty training. Josie loves going for walks and is pretty good on the leash. She also loves going for rides in the car, getting on the couch and sleeping in the bed with me. Overall, Josie is a good dog and will make a great companion for someone who is willing to train her. She is very special and will make a fantastic addition to any family. If you have small children, under 10, in the home, please carefully consider before requesting a meeting with Josie and make sure a puppy is a good fit for your home."

"Luna is a wonderful, sweet little girl. She's happy, playful, with typical puppy energy. Luna is doing great with her house training, and sleeps through the night in her crate. While she doesn't like the crate during the day, we are working with her to feel comfortable being left alone it in. As a puppy, she will need a family committed to continuing her training, teaching her boundaries and expectations. Luna is very smart, learns quickly and wants to please you. She rides well in the car, does great with other dogs, but can be a little timid in new surroundings. Once she feels comfortable, she's a little bundle of Labrdorable love. If you have small children, under 10, in the home, please carefully consider before requesting a meeting with Luna and make sure a puppy is a good fit for your home." Luna is so wonderful, loving and affectionate, and with the right family dedicated to training her through her puppy months, she will be an incredible companion."

We received a beautiful Happy Tail on LVLR alumni, Cali.

"Hello,

We adopted Cali, a black lab, through your rescue group one year ago and it's been a wonderful year with her! She is so loving and loved by us. She enjoys her daily walks, her daily trips to the mailbox, her belly rubs, rides in our kayak, chasing the black birds in our back yard (never comes close but it gives her some excitement!), snoozing on our bed (when allowed), and just hanging out being a perfect companion. Thank you for bringing her into our lives!

Diane C."

We received another wonderful, amazing Happy Tail from double adopters!

"Our family has been more than blessed by the wonderful Las Vegas Lab Rescue. People ask if we rescued or adopted our beautiful furbabies, Cypress and Aspen. We believe we were rescued by them. March 2013 Cypress and May 2017 Aspen joined our family. They have become wonderful playmates, best friends and sisters. They both love to go for rides in daddy's truck, when he grabs the keys they bounce around with excitement. Their favorite place to go is to our Ranch in Utah where they enjoy chasing balls and lizards or swimming in the pond. At night they like to take over the bed or sleep right on top of us but we wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks to all the volunteers at Las Vegas Lab Rescue for all your hard work, commitment to finding furever homes for all the beautiful Labradors that are so fortunate to find their way to your organization.

  • Welby-37

Adopted: Welby, a 4 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from foster family……..

"Welby has been a joy to look after. He gets along well with my two other Labs, he swims, loves to play with toys, swims, retrieves tennis balls, and did I mention he swims? He stands still and enjoys being dried with a towel (he likes the massage!), but is not beyond coming in soaking wet and waiting to shake until he gets near a lot of furniture!

He knows some commands (Sit, No and Stay) and we're working on others. A quick learner, he is smart and wants to please. Welby eats like a gentleman and is very soft when he takes a treat from my hand. Not a chewer or a counter-surfer. He will go into his crate and settle down nicely but likes a treat or toy tossed in first as an incentive. He uses the dog door although after living outdoors before coming to us, he sometimes needs a little reminder about going outside to lift his leg. This gets better every day. He's also very good in the car.

The best thing about Welby is his personality. He has all the happy-go-lucky traits of most Labs, but he seems somehow wise. Like he knows the few scratches and scrapes he carries just add character. My guess is that he's had a couple of walks on the wild side in his past. Now, he is definitely looking for a good loving relationship where he can just snuggle alot and hang out and ponder the universe together with his new people pack. Maybe that's you! "

Happy Tail: Kiera and Kona (formerly Toby)

What a wonderful Happy Tail from a family that has adopted 2 from LVLR.

"We couldn't be happier with our 2 LVLR adoptees. We adopted Kona (LVLR name Toby) in December 2013. He truly rescued us as much as we rescued him. He has been all over the West with us camping, fishing, and hiking. His new and older sister, Kiera, has been with us about 5 weeks and is fitting in wonderfully. She is sassy, smart, and not afraid to ask for attention. They love their daily walks and, of course, the post-walk snack. She is the perfect addition to our pack and we feel so lucky to have them in our family. ❤❤❤"

"Tony joined our family in January 2012, and he has brought so much love and happiness to our lives. Tony is our trusty side kick, and he joins us on all kinds of adventures. We moved from Nevada in 2013, and he since has lived in Chicago, Nashville, and Dallas; and he has been on countless multi-state road trips. Tony didn't much care for the cold weather and snow in Chicago, but he enjoys living in Texas! Tony enjoys playing with his best friend Jake, spending time with his family, going to daycare, playing ball, swimming, and most of all...eating! Dinner time always calls for a celebration at our house! When we adopted Tony, so many people said that he was such a lucky dog, but in actuality, we are the lucky ones."

What a wonderful Happy Tail we received for LVLR alumni Molly!

"It has been almost one year since Molly joined our family. We can't decide who's happier, Molly or us. Every day of Molly's life is filled with daily walks, lots of pool time, which she adores, and more toys than she could ever dream of. Molly has a furry sister named Whitey (for Whitey Ford) and four humans that she loves. Molly may not have had the best start at life, but she is so happy to be part of a loving family. We've had Labs in the past, but Molly is our first rescue. Rescuing is definitely the way to go! Molly is a true "Happy Tail" and is grateful every day for her second chance. Thank you Las Vegas Lab Rescue for all you do! We love our Molly!"

Adopted: Kenya, a 3 1/2 year old Female Chocolate Labrador

  • Kenya-2
  • Kenya-7
  • Kenya-9
  • Kenya-11
  • Kenya-15

Adopted: Kenya, a 3.5 year old Female Chocolate Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Kenya is a sweet and very happy dog with lots of energy and enthusiasm. She knows her basic commands and is generally pretty responsive to a strong “No” when doing something she is not supposed to. Kenya is fully house trained and has seemed to quickly adapt to a routine and rules for her new surroundings. She does pull on the leash on walks, but is already improving. When Kenya gets really excited (usually around new people), she does tend to lose some manners and jump. She likes other dogs and is friendly, but in my experience with her at the dog park, she will give a few growls if she feels threatened. She loves all people and always wants to be involved in whatever you are doing. She follows me around the house and will always want to be in the same room with me. Like most Labs, she loves to eat and came to me with a few extra pounds, but with a consistent diet and regular exercise, she should be just fine.
Kenya would thrive in a loving and active family where she can be a part of the day to day activities of the household. I can’t speak to how she would be with other pets in the house, but I don’t anticipate an issue. Kenya is a beautiful dog who deserves to be part of a great forever family!
Kenya has had hip and ACL surgery, for which she has fully recovered, and while she isn't suited to be a running or hiking partner, she is active and healthy. Kenya does have allergies, which is being managed with medication.
Kenya will make a great addition to any family looking for a new companion."

  • Ebony32

Adopted: Ebony, a 2 year old Black Female Labrador, who is looking for her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Ebony is a sweetheart of a dog who is full of energy and very lovable. She is a quick learner who learned how to use the dog door and walk on a leash without pulling. She knows the basic commands, comes when called, sits before leaving the kennel, and responds well to voice commands. We don’t know if she is good with cats because ours cat is shy around strangers, four and two legged ones. However, Ebony is adapting to living with our other two dogs. She displays some natural behavior that comes from being a stray, being in shelters, and in unknown environments. If Ebony is approached too quickly by another dog or perceives that she is in a vulnerable position, she will growl and/or posture to fight. She is not displaying any attack-mode behavior but she definitely defend herself if she feels threatened. We are working through these issues using my dogs to socialize her to more appropriate behavior. She has only been with us a few days, but with each day she becomes more and more comfortable around our dogs and home. I firmly believe that once Ebony is adopted to her forever family, and the more comfortable and secure she becomes, the less she will exhibit these types of behaviors and fully display the joyous, happy girl that she can be! If you have other dogs in your home, please be prepared with a plan to properly integrate Ebony into the pack, as this will take time, security and structure. Ebony will make a wonderful addition to a lucky family."

  • Molly2017-17

Adopted: Molly, a 10 week old Female Chocolate Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
Molly is a gorgeous little bundle of puppy love! As with any puppy, Molly will need to continually learn boundaries, through structure and repetition, over the next year. She is very smart, progressing well on potty training and sleeping through the night. Molly does good when crated and gives cues when she needs to go outside. Molly is active and playful, sweet and affectionate and already loves swimming and playing in water. She is still a puppy, which means there are times in the day she's a whirling dervish of mischievousness. As Molly is in her puppy stage, where everything goes in her mouth, she needs supervision to teach her good toys versus bad. Molly needs a strong leader to guide her through the puppy months, teach her appropriate behaviors and she will grow into being a great dog.
If you're interested in Molly, please make sure you're committed to training a puppy over the course of the next year. Molly is a blank slate, eager to learn and ready to be taught what to do, and needs time, patience and consistency. If you have small children, under 10, in the home, please carefully consider before requesting a meeting with Molly and make sure a puppy is a good fit for your home."
MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Molly has a medical condition, Hypoplastic (recessed) vulva. Read about it: Recessed Vulva

In the best interest of Molly's long term health, her mandatory spay will be delayed several months, which will require her adopting family to be diligent in communication with LVLR and adhere to specific medical requirements by specific dates, strictly through LVLR's Veterinarian, without any delay or negotiation. Before requesting to meet Molly, please take time to read about the condition, talk with your veterinarian, and discuss with pertinent family members the additional requirements adopting Molly will require. It is imperative that Molly's adopting family commit to following our medical protocols and are prepared to contractually adhere to all requirements."

Adopted: Sheriff, a 10 month old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"At 10 months old and 55 lbs., Sheriff is as lovable as they come! He is all puppy, but is house broken and has mastered the doggie door very quickly. Whereas he really hates the crate, once he is in it, he does not fight it and he sleeps in it through the night. Of course, in true Labrador fashion, he is curious about everything and ready to play as soon as he wakes up. We're working on leash training, which he evidently has never had, but he is a quick learner and has already come a long way, in just 48 hours.

Sheriff needs a home where he can snuggle up to someone. He loves to be held, have his head and chest rubbed. He is so happy being near to you. He's definitely a hands-on kind of child. He is all about being loved!

He would probably do well in a home with another dog, but certainly not necessary. He still likes to chew (he's a puppy) so any children would need to be taught how to put a chew toy in his mouth if he goes for something he shouldn't have. . . and he's been very good about this.

Sheriff is so adorable and will make someone a truly wonderful pet/child/friend!!"

Adopted: Ranger, a 1-2 year old Black Male Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Ranger is a total lover! He loves to be close to you, he's very cuddly. He is a lap dog or at least he thinks so! This sweet boy likes to stand up and gives good hugs! Very playful and gets along with other dogs and kids too.
Ranger has had a few accidents in the house and definitely needs some puppy training, but is smart and quickly learning. He has lots of energy, needs work on leash training, and containing his excitement with new things. Ranger will be a great companion for an active family."

There are times in the year when our rescue looks quiet, often because we have Labs going through medical care that take a little longer to become available for adoption.
January and February 2017 were one of those times.

We’d like to introduce you all 7 little puppies. Born to Giselle, a wonderful 18 month old female yellow Labrador, the litter of 7 (4 females, 3 males, all yellow) will soon be available for adoption. Giselle was rescued from a rural shelter, and with the help of several volunteers, transported to our local vet for a normal medical evaluation. Unbeknownst to all, this bundle of Labrador love was carrying her own little bundles of love!

A pregnant Labrador and litter of puppies are a first for Las Vegas Labrador Rescue, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this story with everyone.

On February 5th, Giselle gave birth to 7 healthy puppies, 4 females and 3 males. Ela, Dallas, Kayla and Summer are the females; Mack, Rowdy and Bubba are the males. With detailed medical care, lots of extra hands and more love that can be quantified, Giselle and her puppies have thrived since birth, and are now almost 6 weeks old. There are lots of bouncing, happy tales to share. Please take a look at our channel, to see video from birth to today. LVLR Puppy Channel

The 7 puppies nor Giselle will be available for adoption until after April 17th, 2017. LVLR is committed to the health and well-being of these Labs, and will take as much time as needed to ensure Giselle and her puppies are given the best foundation for successful adoptions. As always, our first concern for any of our Labs is finding the right home for a Lab, finding the right family committed to the needs of a given Lab. 10-12 week old puppies require a greater commitment of time, energy and training for them to develop into the Labrador they’re meant to be, and it is crucial for any prospective adopters to understand the needs of a young Labrador.

How exciting! LVLR has 7 puppies (4-Girls/3-Boys) who are ready to meet families that are approved to adopt and committed to our process. Before submitting your meet & greet request, we need you to be informed, understand & agree with the protocols & adoption policies with these puppies, as they are different from our standard protocols. Please note the adoption fee is $500 per Labrador puppy. Following directions and paying close attention to details are a prerequisite for anyone wishing to adopt 1 of the 7 puppies. While this is all extremely exciting, all 7 of these puppies will require a much higher level of supervision, care and thought than our older Labrador Retrievers. LVLR’s intentions are to make the entire process fun and exciting while maintaining our core policies, standards and values. At the end of the day, it’s always about the Rescue Dog. We sincerely appreciate you wanting to adopt one of our wonderful Labrador Retrievers. Please read everything carefully BEFORE submitting a request, as LVLR has separate, specific requirements for the adoption of these puppies.

UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming interest in the puppies, we will not be accepting any more new applications to adopt one of the litter. We will continue to accept adoption applications for any available Labs outside of the the puppies.

Adopted: Toby , a 6 month old Male Black Labrador, found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Toby is a gorgeous six month old black male Labrador. He is a very loving little boy who loves to play. He follows me around the house and watches my every move. He listens well and wants to please, a big plus when training! As Toby is only 6 months old, he still needs work for walking on leash and socialization with other pets. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night. He is so adorable he is bound to melt your heart!"
