Adopted: Indy, a 4 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Indy is a beautiful honey colored Labrador Retriever. He has all the energy of a 4 year old, but is sweet and mellow at the same time. He is perfect with our other Labrador, and gets along with other dogs we meet on our walks. He sits happily and lets the neighbors pet him. We dont have cats in our home but noticed that Indy gets very excited if he sees one outside and wants to go figure it out. He uses the doggie door with no problems, and goes into his crate easily. Only barks when appropriate. He loves to play with his toys and doesnt try to destroy them immediately, which is pretty amazing.

He knows Sit and No, and is learning Stay and Come. He's quite strong and needs some work on the leash as far as heeling is concerned.

When not resting or playing, he loves to hang out with people and he is very attentive, responding quickly to any instruction as long as he can figure it out. What he seems to love the most is standing next to one of us, leaning into our leg, and getting his head rubbed. If we stop, he's quick to let us know he isnt done and wants some more love! Indy would make a great companion. "

Indy currently has the maximum allowed meet & greets. Please stay tuned.

Adopted: Lilo, a 1.5 year old Female Black Labrador, has found her forever home.

Here is a Bio from her foster family……..

"Considering Lilo has not had a very pretty past, she somehow has not lost hope that there is someone “out there” that she can shower with love and have it returned. She has no real interest in toys (at least not yet) and food is just food, no big deal. What she craves is a partner to love her. . . and rub her belly, her chest, the top of her head. . .and even though she probably won’t kiss you back, she likes to be on the receiving end of a kiss or a snuggle. She will insist on 4 or 5 minutes of affection before bed, and then she will stretch out at the end of the bed and sleep through the night.

Lilo came to us having had no training. In the 48+ hours that I have had her, she has learned how to climb the stairs, use a doggie door, she knows “sit” and “stay” and is doing well on a leash. She knows which house is mine and which one is her “Aunt” Amanda’s. We’re working on getting her housebroken. . . we’ve at least made it to the puppy pads! She does well with “calm firmness” and is clearly very smart! Lilo is very trainable, but will need some further work. She does NOT like the crate and makes no bones about it. From what we know of her past, it appears that she was always kept in a kennel, probably 24/7. . .so to her, the crate is a place that she does not want to return to. She has “escaped” it a couple of times, and has not bothered anything in my home. I find her asleep on my bed or watching TV, which totally fascinates her. She will actually sit there and watch it. Very cute.

Lilo has the potential to be the best dog you’ve ever had. Her disposition is naturally sweet, loving and attentive. I have yet to see one speck of meanness in her (panic –yes, to get out of the crate, but not aggression) She just needs someone to show her the way to the life that she definitely deserves. "

Adopted: Dudley, a 6 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"It's hard to believe that Dudley is 6 years old - he has the energy and the playfulness of a 2 year old!
Dudley has a very sweet and gentle disposition. You will never see him without a toy of some sort dangling from his mouth - but if I just hold out my hand for it, he will drop the toy with no questions asked. He and my dog Rudolph play together like best buddies, and easily share their toys.
Dudley seems to have boundless energy. He and Rudolph wrestle and chase each other around the back yard until they drop. But if I go into another room, Dudley is right there with me and ready to go again. He likes to sleep at my feet when I am working, and to cuddle when he can. He is very affectionate, and sometimes even climbs into my lap to sleep with his head on my shoulder.
Dudley is crate-trained, and sleeps through the night in his crate. He is smart, and has picked up a number of commands since he came here. He is great with other dogs, and although I have not had him in contact with children, I'm pretty sure that he would be gentle and good with them as well.
Because he is so energetic, Dudley would do well in a home with another playful dog, or with an active family that would give him all the exercise that he needs."

"Sarge is such a sweet boy! He loves to play fetch. He is very good at bringing the ball to you and dropping it so that you can keep throwing it to him. Sarge is house broken and has not had any accidents in the house. Sarge loves to be around people and loves to cuddle. Sarge has gone into his kennel with no problem. He sleeps good in his kennel, in our room at night. Sarge likes to be active. He will be great with a family that will keep him busy and give him some love, attention and training. "

Adopted: Harley, a 8-9 year old Male Yellow Labrador, has found his forever home.

Here is a Bio from his foster family……..

"Harley is one very smart boy! After only one walk, he knew which house was mine. His crate is in my bedroom. I usually go to the gym right after breakfast, and he has learned that when the gym bag comes out, he is going to go in his crate. Now – as soon as he sees me grab the gym bag, he runs downstairs. As much as he does NOT like his crate, he will very reluctantly go into it, and lay right down. Otherwise, he is so easy going and very low maintenance. Whereas he likes to be in the same room, or at least “in view” of you, he doesn’t need to be touching you. He “might” get on the couch and/or the bed with you, if invited, but is really much more at home on the floor. He sleeps on the floor right next to my bed, and has yet to wake me up! Harley loves it if you want to get on the floor with him and will gladly roll over for a good belly rub. As far as commands go – he knows “sit” and is learning “stay” and “stop”. He seems to understand your “intent” more than the actual word. Due to some recent dental surgery, he hasn’t been allowed to play with any toys or balls, but indications are that he will be true to his breed and be a great “retriever”. While getting his initial assessment at the Vet, he evidently was being walked by a shelf containing toys, and without hesitation, helped himself to a toy. He doesn’t mind being brushed, loves to ride in the car, go to the dog park, he doesn’t pull on the leash, he’s not a big barker, loves his vegetables (he gets carrots, green beans and broccoli), he puts up with my hugs and kisses. . . Harley is just one very easy guy! He’s such a fantastic dog and will be a great companion to anyone who makes him a furever part of their family. "
