Conner has been diagnosed with Canine Oral Papillomas.. It's common in puppies, whose immune systems aren't fully developed, and spread through saliva. Puppies like to lick!
While Conner will naturally recover from the virus, it will take up to 8 weeks for his immune system to be completely free of it. There are no symptoms, and no medication to give, puppies simply grow out of it.
While not contagious to people, the virus is contagious to other dogs. We strongly suggest, if your home already has a dog(s), do not request to meet Conner. He has to be kept from other dogs until the virus has run it's course, and as we don't know when he was introduced to it, it should be 8 weeks.
Please make sure you've read up on Canine Oral Papillomas and speak with your vet before submitting a Meet Request for Conner.
"Conner is a typical playful, energetic puppy. He's very quick to learn and will do great being trained to know boundaries, rules and proper behavior. Conner does not like the kennel, but we're working on feeling more comfortable. As Conner is still a puppy, he's incredibly mouthy, full of curiosity and likes to run and play, and will need a strong leader to teach him through the puppy stages of life. As Conner has to be separated, we cannot say how he is with other dogs at this point. Conner will need a family experienced with young, energetic Labs and committed to providing him with structure, boundaries and training. Conner will make a great companion, as he loves people."
